Sermon Notes – Look

Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:22)

Salvation belongs to God and He gives it to those who look to Him.

If I look to myself, I will never be saved. If I look at my sin and despair, I will not be saved. If I look to idols, they too will fail me. If I look to philosophy, that too will fail and pass away. If I look to the power of governments, they will fall as all ancient empires have fallen. If I look at myself and say I am unworthy, that is indeed true but it will not save me. If I look to others, they too will fail me.

The only truth that will save me is that God is God and there is none else and He has said “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.”

Let me believe and look. Even if I do not see Him because there is great darkness, let me just look. He did not command me to see. He commanded me to look. Herein lies the way to salvation.
