Sermon Notes – Homesick

The true Christian is sick of this world. He can work, serve, but feel very out of tune with his generation. This is a wicked and adulterous generation. It has not improved any since the days of Christ. If you can live in it truly comfortably, I do wonder if the miracle has been worked in you and if you have been truly regenerated. There is a migratory instinct in the bird and without knowing why, that bird will look around in March and feel dissatisfied and take to the air and cruise long and far to find his summer homeland. The Christian has a homeland and if we do not anticipate it, there is something wrong with us.

(Paraphrased and excerpted from A.W. Tozer’s “Begotten unto a Living Hope” 1 Peter Sermon Series)
